Pacecraft looks at how you're running right now, builds a plan around the race and the time you're aiming for, and sends every session straight to your Apple Watch. It can even read the route you'll be racing and get your legs ready for the parts that tend to catch people out.
Free, always. No subscription, and nothing about you ever leaves your iPhone.
Most training plans treat every runner the same, whatever kind of shape they happen to be in. Pacecraft starts from where you are today and keeps the plan honest as your fitness changes over the weeks.
Pacecraft reads your recent runs and cardio fitness from Apple Health, works out where your fitness sits today, and predicts your times all the way from 5K to the marathon. Every prediction comes with an honest range rather than a single number designed to flatter you.
Every session arrives in the Workout app on your Apple Watch with its pace and heart rate targets already in place. When you run outside it guides you on pace, and on the treadmill it quietly switches to heart rate so that the alerts stop fighting you.
Bring in the route for your race and Pacecraft reads its climbs, its descents and the short bridges that always seem to arrive in the closing kilometres. It then works the right preparation into your training, so that nothing you meet on the day comes as a surprise.
Pacecraft keeps an eye on your form, your training load and how well you're recovering, and it tells you plainly when to ease off. If your goal has drifted out of reach it will say so, instead of quietly pretending that everything is on track.
A flat city marathon and a hilly one are really two different races, and a steep climb at kilometre five asks something quite different of you than the very same climb would at kilometre thirty-five. Pacecraft turns the elevation profile of your race into real decisions about how you train.
Venice is a good example. It runs almost completely flat, and then a series of short canal bridges arrives in the closing kilometres, just as your legs are starting to tire. Pacecraft notices that pattern and adds late cadence work and bridge simulations to your long runs, all without turning your marathon plan into a hill plan.
Pacecraft runs entirely on your iPhone. There are no servers, nothing to sign up for and no adverts of any kind, and your health and training data simply never leaves your device. It is a proper running coach that happens to cost nothing at all.
Coming soon on theApp StoreYou can let Pacecraft read your recent runs and recovery from Apple Health, and it uses all of that to understand your fitness. If you would rather not, simply type in a recent race time and you are ready to go, because none of it is required.
Choose your distance, the date and the time you are chasing, and add the route as well if you have the file. Pacecraft then builds a plan that fits the number of weeks you have left and stays honest about whether the goal is realistic.
Each session goes across to the Workout app on your Apple Watch, ready for you to start. As your fitness moves over the weeks, Pacecraft updates the paces for the sessions still to come, without ever touching the ones you have already run.
A private, personal running coach for your iPhone and Apple Watch, free to download and free to keep.

The short version.
Pacecraft is a running coach that builds a personalised training plan around your fitness and race goal, shows your training status and recovery, and sends structured workouts to your Apple Watch. It is designed to keep your data on your device. This policy explains what the app accesses and how it is used.
If you grant access, Pacecraft reads the following from Apple Health, on your device only. We request each type solely because it appears somewhere in the app, and you can grant or decline each one.
To estimate your fitness and set your training paces:
To show your recovery and adjust your training:
For context on your overall activity:
Granting access is optional. If you decline all of it, you can still enter a recent time and a goal manually and use the core training features; the recovery and activity displays simply show an empty state.
With your permission, Pacecraft uses WorkoutKit to schedule the workouts in your plan into the Apple Watch Workout app, so you can run them from your watch.
Pacecraft operates on your device. We do not run servers that receive your data, we do not require an account, and your health and training data is not transmitted to us or to any third party. Plans and settings are stored locally on your device.
If a future version offers optional iCloud sync, your data would be stored in your own iCloud account under Apple's terms; this policy will be updated before any such feature is enabled.
In line with Apple's requirements for apps that use HealthKit:
This version of Pacecraft does not include third-party analytics, advertising or tracking, and does not share data with third parties. If this changes, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent.
Pacecraft is not directed at children and is intended for general adult use. Please do not use the app to process the data of a child without appropriate consent.
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a revised date.
